Poetry Friday: Alone Again

Away in a room stands the girl alone
her hands worn in vain
She tries to put behind the thoughts
her eyes close in pain

There in the darkness she sees his face
she runs to meet his arms
But when at last she reaches the end
and opens wide her eyes
she meets an empty place

She falls to the floor
and sits with subtle tears falling down her cheek
there is no one there to greet her
Her love is never more
she is alone again
